

I canned some of the Ball recipe French Onion soup back in July. I had eaten the other jars shortly after canning (it was good!), but had this one left I was going to open today. I noticed these white/yellow'ish colored spots, and am just trying to decide if this is safe as I don't remember it on the others.
The recipe does call for 1 TBSP of butter, and I'm wondering it's just that showing up with the cooler temps this fall. Anyone by chance have similar with this recipe?

Is that maybe the fat? That’s what it looks like to me. How long ago was it canned?
looks like fat to me?
open and rub a bit between your fingers
Soak the whole thing in hot water and see if it melts
